Hyundai Motor Malaysia Deepens Football Roots, Extends Official Mobility Partnership with Selangor FC

Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has officially announced the extension of its contract with Selangor Football Club (Selangor FC), solidifying its position as the Official Mobility Partner for the Red Giants. Coming on the heels of HMY’s recent showcase of future-ready mobility solutions, this extension signifies a deliberate growth transition from establishing the initial partnership to deepening shared roots, driving sporting passion, and actively supporting the local football community both on and off the field.

Continuing its role as Selangor FC’s Official Mobility Partner, Hyundai Motor Malaysia will provide one unit of Hyundai TUCSON Prestige as the club’s official vehicle. The model’s advanced features, comfort and versatility make it well suited to support the day-to-day transportation needs of Selangor FC’s staff and officials, enabling efficient mobility on and off the pitch throughout the 2026/2027 season. The renewed alliance ensures that Selangor FC’s players, technical staff, and officials will continue to be backed by Hyundai’s focus on performance, innovation, and absolute reliability during their grueling campaigns in the domestic league and upcoming regional circuits.

“The inaugural year of our partnership proved that performance and progress go hand-in-hand. Seeing Selangor FC’s amazing achievement at the 2025-2026 ASEAN Club Championship Shopee CupTM finals has only strengthened our resolve to support their competitive ambitions,” said Ms Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia. “As we step into this next phase, we are not just maintaining a corporate sponsorship; we are actively refining our mobility solutions to ensure the team, the management, and the fans experience a seamless journey toward future triumphs.”

Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC, expressed his enthusiasm for the extended alliance: “Today we are welcoming a new chapter in our journey. Alongside Hyundai Motor Malaysia, we believe this partnership will bring positive impact to both Selangor FC and Malaysian football as a whole. It’s not just about chasing trophies but it’s about cultivating a culture, discipline and continuous growth – which is a shared vision with Hyundai.”

Beyond immediate tactical and fleet support for the squad, the extension paves the way for a more public-facing, integrated consumer experience. HMY aims to bridge the gap between automotive innovation and football, turning this partnership into a vehicle for deeper community engagement across the state of Selangor and nationwide.

The 2025/2026 season was a thrilling campaign for Selangor FC, with the Red Giants securing third place in the Malaysia Super League and impressive runners-up finish in the ASEAN Club Championship (Shopee Cup™), delighting fans and reinforcing the club’s position as one of the region’s top contenders.

Over the past year, Hyundai Motor Malaysia and Selangor FC have successfully collaborated on a wide range of initiatives spanning fan engagement, grassroots football development and community outreach programmes. In support of grassroots football development, Hyundai Motor Malaysia participated in the Selangor FC Soccer School Carnival, further reinforcing its commitment to nurturing young talent and contributing to the development of Malaysian football. One of the highlights was the HMY Sentiasa di Sisi Anda x SFC Cahaya Ramadan 2026 programme, which benefited 150 underprivileged students from Bait Al-Hasanah, Klang.

Through the collective support of Hyundai Motor Malaysia, Selangor FC and participating partners, the initiative provided festive essentials, educational materials, financial assistance and food aid, reflecting a shared commitment to giving back to the community.

Now, Hyundai’s commitment to “Progress for Humanity” comes to life by enhancing humane moments in sports, making every match a catalyst for connection, inspiration, and shared progress. As the season unfolds, fans can look forward to new experiences where mobility and football come together to create moments of connection and inspiration

The extended contract continues to align Hyundai’s extensive global legacy of football investment with localised grassroots passion, creating meaningful touchpoints that move players, fans, and communities forward.
