Starbucks Malaysia Introduces Protein Cold Foam

KUALA LUMPUR (12 JUNE 2026) – Starbucks is shaking up the coffee scene with another innovation, designed to effortlessly upgrade morning coffee rituals and mid-afternoon matcha moments. Introducing Protein Cold Foam, a creamy, frothy layer with a light protein boost, which will begin rolling out across stores nationwide from June 11.

With approximately 15 to 17 grams of protein in a grande-sized beverage, Protein Cold Foam offers a simple way to boost familiar orders – making everyday routines feel more substantial and carry a little further through the day.

Across the region, interest in protein continues to grow as more people look for snacks and beverages that support balanced, everyday wellness. In Malaysia, the sports nutrition market, which includes protein-focused products, is projected to grow by 5.96% annually through 2032, reflecting increasing consumer interest in incorporating protein into everyday lifestyles. By offering Protein Cold Foam alongside drinks people already enjoy, familiar, everyday routines stay the same, just with a smoother, more considered finish.

“As customers continue to embrace more mindful lifestyle choices, we are always exploring new ways to evolve our menu while staying true to the Starbucks experience,” said Zakiah Hanim, Director of Marketing & Loyalty, Starbucks Malaysia.

“Our Protein Cold Foam beverages are an exciting addition that brings together personalisation, flavor, and functionality, offering customers a simple and enjoyable way to add a protein boost to their favorite beverages.”

Crafted to Complement Iced Beverage Routines

Crafted by blending whey protein with a dairy base of low-fat milk. Protein Cold Foam forms a smooth, velvety layer expertly designed to sit atop Starbucks iced beverages. Soft yet creamy, it crowns each cup with subtle richness and a rounded finish while allowing the beverage beneath to remain at the center of the experience.

Built on Cold Foam, a popular Starbucks menu topping, Protein Cold Foam keeps its signature velvety texture, now with added protein. Available in a range of flavors including chocolate and vanilla, it pairs seamlessly with iced Americano, Matcha, and more, adding a subtle lift to iced favorites. Customers can also customise their beverage of choice by adding Protein Cold Foam as a modifier, making it easy to personalise everyday orders with a creamy texture and protein boost.

Two Ways to Experience Protein Cold Foam

Protein Cold Foam adds a silky-smooth layer to everyday orders – here are some of many ways it can be enjoyed with your favorite Starbucks beverage:

Iced Chocolate Cream Protein Americano
Handcrafted to deliver about 15 – 17 grams of protein in a grande, smooth Chocolate Protein Cold Foam layers Starbucks signature espresso adding a light creaminess that softens the edges of the bold coffee base.

Iced Vanilla Cream Protein Matcha
Smooth and creamy with 15 – 17 grams of protein per grande, this matcha latte is topped with Vanilla Protein Cold Foam for a velvety finish that gently lifts the matcha’s natural character.
