Agoda: In the First Half of 2026, Malaysians Turn to Top Attractions from Aquaria KLCC to Universal Studios Singapore

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 7 July 2026 – Digital travel platform Agoda has revealed its top booked activities for the first half of 2026, offering a fresh look at the attractions travellers are adding to their plans across Malaysia and the region.

Based on Agoda activity bookings in the first half of 2026, Aquaria KLCC was featured among Agoda’s collection of top booked activities across eight key markets in the region. Within Malaysia, Aquaria KLCC topped the list of most booked activities on Agoda, followed by Genting SkyWorlds in Genting Highlands and Zoo Negara in Kuala Lumpur.

For Malaysian travellers booking activities abroad in the same period, regional entertainment attractions led the way. Universal Studios Singapore was the top booked international activity by Malaysian travellers, followed by Hong Kong Disneyland Park and VinWonders Phu Quoc in Vietnam.

From local attractions to regional entertainment icons, Agoda’s activity booking data shows that well known attractions continue to play an important role in how travellers shape both local outings and regional getaways. From Aquaria KLCC being featured among Agoda’s collection of top booked activities across key markets in the region to Malaysians booking major attractions abroad, the data points to three ways travellers are adding experiences to their trips.

1. Malaysia’s homegrown attractions draw strong traveller interest

Aquaria KLCC was featured among Agoda’s collection of top booked activities across key markets in the region, representing Malaysia’s most booked activity.

The recognition highlights how a homegrown attraction can stand alongside some of the region’s best known experiences. Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Aquaria KLCC remains one of the city’s most recognisable visitor experiences, offering travellers an activity that can be easily added to an urban break.

2. Local picks show the appeal of easy-access attractions in KL and Genting

Within Malaysia, Agoda’s top booked activities in 2026 were concentrated around Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands. Aquaria KLCC led the Malaysia list, followed by Genting SkyWorlds in Genting Highlands and Zoo Negara in Kuala Lumpur.

The rankings highlight the appeal of accessible attractions that can complement city stays, weekend breaks and short local trips. From an aquarium in the city centre to a theme park in Genting Highlands and a zoo in Kuala Lumpur, the top local picks offer travellers a convenient way to add more to their plans without needing to travel far from major accommodation hubs.

3. Regional theme parks lead Malaysians’ overseas activity picks

For Malaysian travellers booking activities abroad, Universal Studios Singapore ranked first this year, followed by Hong Kong Disneyland Park and VinWonders Phu Quoc in Vietnam.

The rankings show the continued pull of major regional attractions that can become part of the overall trip experience. Whether travellers are heading to Singapore, Hong Kong or Vietnam, these activity picks reflect the role that well-known attractions can play when travellers compare destinations, stays and things to do.

Fabian Teja, Country Director, Malaysia and Brunei at Agoda, said, “What stands out in the first half of 2026 is how consistently Malaysian travelers are gravitating toward established, well-known attractions across both domestic and international travel. These aren’t impulse add-ons, but are often central to why a trip is taken in the first place. That shift in how activities fit into trip planning is reflected in what we’re seeing across the region too, where major attractions are appearing at the top of booking lists in market after market. Travelers increasingly seem to be planning the experience first, and building the stay around it.”

The rankings also show that large-scale attractions continue to perform strongly across the region. Other top-ranked activities included Tokyo Disney Resort, Lotte World in Seoul, Jakarta Aquarium Safari, Skyflyers Giant Swing in Bangkok and North Coast Tour covering Jiufen and Yehliu in Taiwan.

With over 6 million holiday properties, more than 130,000 flight routes and over 300,000 activities, Agoda offers travellers access to a wide range of options for every travel style and budget. Travellers can find the best deals on Agoda’s mobile app or visit Agoda.com to plan their next holiday.
