We Put ASICS’ Latest Badminton Shoes to the Test at Their World Badminton Day Celebration

What better way to celebrate World Badminton Day than by actually stepping onto the court?

That’s exactly what ASICS Malaysia had in mind when it invited members of the media, content creators and badminton enthusiasts to IOI Sports Centre, Putrajaya for a morning packed with rallies, coaching sessions and hands-on product testing.

Rather than simply displaying its latest badminton collection, ASICS gave participants the chance to experience the shoes where they matter most on the badminton court.

The highlight of the event was an exclusive shoe trial featuring the new COURT CONTROL™ FF 4 and BLADE™ FF 2, allowing everyone to switch between both models during actual gameplay.

Designed for players who thrive on aggressive attacks and powerful jumps, the COURT CONTROL™ FF 4 (RM559) combines FF BLAST™ PLUS cushioning, DYNALACING™ technology and the TWISTRUSS™ support system to deliver extra stability and comfort during long rallies.

Meanwhile, the lighter BLADE™ FF 2 (RM449) caters to players who rely on speed, quick footwork and rapid directional changes, making it a solid option for those who enjoy a faster style of play.

Of course, testing the shoes was only part of the experience.

Participants also joined an interactive badminton clinic led by former Malaysian Olympian Soniia Cheah and former national player, sports psychologist and award-winning coach Daphne Ng.

Throughout the session, they shared practical tips on movement, court positioning, game strategy and the mental side of badminton offering useful insights for both casual players and those looking to improve their game.

The energy remained high as the day continued with friendly matches and interactive mini games, where participants challenged one another in light-hearted competitions that tested their reflexes, accuracy and agility. Between the laughter, competitive rallies and constant encouragement from the sidelines, the event felt less like a product launch and more like a community badminton session.

According to Boon Tib, Country Manager of ASICS Malaysia, badminton has always been a sport that connects Malaysians regardless of age or skill level. Through the World Badminton Day celebration, the brand hoped to create an experience that not only showcased its latest innovations but also celebrated the camaraderie and positive impact sport brings to everyday life.

The event also reflected ASICS’ long-standing philosophy of “Sound Mind, Sound Body,” encouraging people of all abilities to stay active while experiencing how the right footwear can improve comfort, confidence and performance on court.

By the end of the morning, one thing was clear; ASICS wasn’t just introducing two new badminton shoes, it was creating an experience that reminded everyone why badminton remains one of Malaysia’s favourite sports.
