Malaysian actress and singer Bella Astillah swapped the spotlight for the bubble tea counter as she stepped in as a barista at TRUEDAN’s first Malaysian outlet at IOI City Mall on September 5.
The Taiwanese bubble tea brand’s grand opening drew more than 500 fans and customers, with Bella getting hands-on with some of TRUEDAN’s signature creations.
She tried shaving the brand’s Meteoric Brown Sugar and cutting its Handmade Taiwanese Jelly before serving fans its Signature Meteoric Brown Sugar Oolong Milk Tea with Taiwanese Jelly and freshly fried Taiwanese Crispy Milk Donuts.
Bella said she especially enjoyed the Taiwanese Jelly, describing its texture as different from the usual bubble tea toppings, while also calling the Meteoric Brown Sugar “next level”.
And it wasn’t just the fans who got a treat.
Bella revealed that her kids, Ayden and Ara, were already asking her to bring home some of TRUEDAN’s milk donuts.
“They love them, so I already know I’ll be tapau-ing some home later today,” she said with a laugh.
More Than Just Bubble Tea Pearls
TRUEDAN’s Malaysian menu puts the spotlight on Handmade Taiwanese Jelly, offering a smooth yet chewy alternative to the usual tapioca pearls.
The brand’s Meteoric Brown Sugar is also prepared fresh in-store, with fine brown sugar flakes shaved directly into drinks for extra aroma and richness.
One of its signature combinations is the Meteoric Brown Sugar Oolong Milk Tea with Taiwanese Jelly, bringing both flavours and textures into one cup.
Beyond bubble tea, TRUEDAN also introduced its Taiwanese Crispy Milk Donuts, which are freshly fried to order for a crispy exterior and fluffy centre.
They come in three flavours: Original, Kunafa Chocolate and Kunafa Pistachio.
Bella personally handed out the drinks and donuts during the opening, turning the launch into a lively fan celebration rather than a typical ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Opening Treats Continued
Although Bella’s appearance took place on September 5, TRUEDAN’s grand opening celebration continued on September 6 with complimentary drinks and donuts while stocks lasted.
