Feeling Mentally Drained? LG Wants You to ‘Free Up Your Mind’

Ever feel like your body is resting, but your brain is still running through a never-ending to-do list?

That invisible pressure has a name: mental load.
LG Electronics (LG) is putting the spotlight on this everyday struggle through its 2026 Life’s Good campaign, “Free up your mind.”

According to LG’s latest survey, people spend the equivalent of 87 days a year carrying mental load, from remembering endless tasks and making small decisions to keeping track of responsibilities at home.

On average, respondents experienced 27 mental load interruptions during their waking hours.
And it is taking a toll.

More than half (51%) said mental load affects their sleep, while 49% said it impacts their physical health.

Interestingly, what people say they want when that mental burden is lifted isn’t necessarily more time to work or be productive.

Instead, they want the simple things, getting lost in a book, spending unexpected time with loved ones or simply enjoying a moment without having to think about what needs to be done next.

So, Where Does Technology Come In?
LG’s campaign explores how AI-powered technology could quietly take care of some everyday tasks, giving people more space to focus on things that actually matter.

The campaign’s hero film follows a family who takes a break from their usual responsibilities for one evening, highlighting the small moments that often get lost in the busyness of everyday life.

The idea is also brought to life through LG products including the LG WashTower, LG Styler, LG OLED and LG DUALCOOL, showing how technology can help handle routine household tasks with less effort.

LG’s research found that 73% of respondents believe the right household technology could help reduce their mental load, particularly technology that can proactively handle routine tasks without requiring constant attention.

For LG, the message is simple: technology shouldn’t just help us do more.

Sometimes, it should help us think less about the things that don’t matter, so we can make more room for the things that do.

Free up your mind. Life’s Good.
