21 October 2026 – Garmin Malaysia has announced its latest cycling products, the Edge 1060 cycling computer and Tacx Nēra indoor smart trainer, designed to enhance the cycling experience with hands-free voice control, advanced navigation and multidirectional movement for indoor training.
Edge 1060: Smarter Navigation and Hands-Free Control
The Edge 1060 is Garmin’s latest premium cycling computer, featuring voice commands activated by saying “Okay, Garmin”. Using its built-in microphone and speaker, cyclists can access performance statistics, select routes, find points of interest and exchange voice messages with other Garmin Messenger app users through a connected smartphone.
The latest additions offer hands-free voice control, advanced navigation and immersive indoor training for cyclists on and off the road.
New navigation features include route comparisons based on ride time, elevation and bike type, route previews with estimated ride times and reported hazards, and updates on nearby points of interest. Cyclists can also receive road closure alerts and report hazards hands-free, while Free Flow Routing identifies routes with fewer stops and intersections.
The device also features an interactive workout screen, customisable home screen, enhanced GroupRide functions and a touchscreen display complemented by physical buttons for use in challenging weather conditions or while wearing gloves.
Personalised Training and Connected Cycling
The Edge 1060 provides performance insights such as real-time stamina, Power Guide, cycling ability and course demands, powered by the Garmin Human Performance Lab. Cyclists can also create personalised Garmin Cycling Coach plans that adapt to their performance, recovery and course requirements.
TrainingPeaks workouts can sync automatically to the device, while compatible Garmin smartwatches or CIRQA Smart Bands provide additional health and recovery insights. Enhanced GroupRide features include nearby session detection, in-ride messaging, live locations, incident detection alerts and competitions.
The cycling computer also supports reverse charging for compatible devices, including Varia lights and smartphones.
“At Garmin, we’re committed to helping cyclists make the most of every ride, whether they’re exploring new routes outdoors or working towards their goals through indoor training. With our latest lineup, we continue to bring together advanced navigation features, meaningful ride insights and immersive training experiences to support cyclists at every stage of their journey,” said Mr Scoppen Lin, Assistant General Manager, Garmin Asia.
Tacx Nēra: An Immersive Indoor Cycling Experience
Complementing the Edge 1060, the Tacx Nēra indoor smart trainer delivers realistic multidirectional movement alongside accurate power and cadence measurements within 1%.
Its built-in motion pods allow forward, backward and side-to-side movement for a more immersive and comfortable ride. The trainer simulates gradients of up to 20% and supports sprint efforts of up to 2,200 watts.
A preinstalled cassette makes setup easier, while the Zwift Ready version comes with a preinstalled Zwift Cog and Click for seamless virtual shifting during training and racing on Zwift or ROUVY. Eligible new subscribers purchasing the Zwift Ready option can also receive a complimentary Zwift membership offer.
Connected Training and Real-World Routes
The Tacx Nēra features Race Mode for faster responses to attacks and breakaways during virtual races on selected training apps, as well as built-in Wi-Fi for connectivity on Zwift and ROUVY.
Through the Tacx Training app, cyclists can access free workouts and, with a premium plan, ride real-world courses, participate in challenges and earn badges. A premium plan is included free for 45 days with the purchase of a Tacx Nēra.
For a more immersive experience, the trainer can be paired with Tacx Alpine, a gradient simulator that replicates inclines of up to 25% and descents of up to -10%. Compatible Edge cycling computers and smartwatches can also connect to the trainer, allowing cyclists to view indoor and outdoor activities alongside health and recovery data in Garmin Connect.
