Secret Recipe’s Beloved Carrot Cake Gets A Whimsical New Look With BlueBean

Some flavours have a way of bringing us back to familiar moments. A beloved classic gets a fresh new look as Secret Recipe introduces its new Carrot Cake, now presented as a 6-inch whole cake complete with playful 3D chocolate carrot-shaped decor.

To add a whimsical touch to this quintessential Malaysian throwback, Secret Recipe has teamed up with acclaimed local artist BlueBean for a playful collaboration that brings the cake to life through BlueBean’s adorable characters.

“As a proudly Malaysian brand, Secret Recipe is committed to supporting local artists and celebrating homegrown creativity. BlueBean’s signature whimsy adds a playful and distinctive touch to celebrate the launch of our new Carrot Cake, and we hope the exclusive designs will make the experience even more special for our customers,” said Ryan Chung, Marketing Manager at Secret Recipe.

The Carrot Cake features a moist carrot sponge packed with walnuts, layered with cream cheese frosting and finished with cookie crumbs and the playful 3D chocolate carrot decor. Whether enjoyed slice-by-slice or shared as a whole cake during family gatherings, the new Carrot Cake offers a warm and comforting taste to the table.

Drawing inspiration from the Carrot Cake’s charming look, Malaysian book illustrator and artist Angela Wong, Founder of BlueBean Art Studio brings her signature whimsical style to the collaboration, pairing her cute and quirky characters with a familiar Secret Recipe favourite.

BlueBean’s cute and quirky characters have been the stars of many previous collaborations, including features in animations, music videos, commercial advertisements and events. Notably, BlueBean has written and illustrated her first picture book – After You Left, You Left Me With A Gift – a story close to her heart exploring “every little feeling inside” after experiencing loss.

“As a Malaysian artist, it’s always exciting to see my own characters come to life in new ways. This collaboration gave me the opportunity to bring the whimsical world of BlueBean into something as familiar and well-loved as Secret Recipe’s cakes. I had so much fun working on the designs and I hope that they bring an extra bit of joy to everyone who enjoys the Carrot Cake!” said Angela Wong, Founder of BlueBean Art Studio.

Ready to add a little sweet treat and whimsy to your day? Available from 5 October onwards at Secret Recipe outlets nationwide, the Carrot Cake is priced at RM13.50 per slice in Peninsular Malaysia (RM98 for the whole cake) and RM12.75 per slice in Langkawi (RM92.45 for the whole cake). Customers who purchase a slice or whole cake of Carrot Cake will also receive an exclusive BlueBean sticker sheet, available from 19 October onwards on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.

Enjoy a slice of this familiar taste and take home a little piece of BlueBean’s whimsical world with you!
