Paramount Cup 2026 Draws Over 1,000 Entries, Raises RM10,050 For SHELTER Home

The four-day tournament brought together players from 18 nations, expanded opportunities for junior competitors and welcomed families and supporters beyond the courts.

Paramount Cup 2026 wrapped up after four days of competition at PLAYA Racquet Club @ PARC Subang, attracting over 1,000 entries across junior, adult and senior divisions.

Its second edition also introduced eight junior categories and the Paramount Cup Festival, while raising RM10,050 for SHELTER Home for Children through a charitable initiative by Paramount Property and PLAYA.

Recognised as an APP Asia Qualifier, the tournament welcomed players from 18 nations, including the Philippines, Australia, India, Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom, alongside Malaysia’s top players.

International Competition Across Generations

The Open divisions saw international and Malaysian players compete for the tournament titles.

Vanshik Kapadia of India and Connie Na Eun Lee of the United States won the Mixed Doubles Open title, defeating Malaysia’s Ng Dickson and Joseline Ngu Tze Qin 11-5, 11-2 in the final. Kapadia also claimed the Men’s Doubles Open title alongside Roman Estareja of the United States.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Nursharmeen Shamsuddin and the United States’ Jasmine Almaguer won the Women’s Doubles Open title, while Patrick Ares Mendoza of the Philippines emerged as the Men’s Singles Open champion.

This year’s tournament also introduced eight junior categories, attracting 134 participants across U10, U12 and U14 Co-ed divisions, as well as U16 Boys’ Singles and Doubles. The expanded programme aims to encourage younger players to take up the sport, develop their skills and experience organised competition.

Brandon Basas of Malaysia claimed the U16 Boys’ Singles title with an 11-6, 11-4 victory in the final.

Other categories included Men’s and Women’s 35+ events, alongside Men’s 45+ and Mixed Doubles 45+ divisions. By welcoming players across different generations, Paramount Cup provides opportunities for people to stay active, pursue their passion for pickleball and connect through sport.

Festival Brings Families And Local Businesses Together

Held on 24 and 25 October, the Paramount Cup Festival extended the event beyond the courts, giving players, families and supporters more to enjoy between matches.

More than 2,000 players, supporters and visitors attended the festival, which featured 22 local vendors and food and beverage pop-ups. Visitors could also take part in five complimentary family workshops covering sustainable crafts, interactive science and pickleball-themed art.

The festival added another way for the wider community to enjoy the occasion through sport, family activities and local businesses.

Paramount Cup Raises RM10,050 For SHELTER Home

Beyond the competition, Paramount Cup 2026 raised RM10,050 for SHELTER Home for Children through a ringgit-for-ringgit initiative.

PLAYA contributed RM5 for every tournament entry, with Paramount Property matching each contribution with another RM5.

The funds will support SHELTER’s residential home for 40 children and its community outreach outpost serving more than 30 children from B40 families. The donation will go towards essential care and trauma restoration programmes, including professional counselling, educational therapy and mentorship for children affected by abuse, neglect and abandonment.

“Paramount Cup has grown into more than a sporting competition. It has become a platform that brings people together, nurtures young talent and creates opportunities to give back to the community. We are particularly heartened that this year’s tournament has raised more than RM10,000 for SHELTER Home for Children, demonstrating what we can achieve when people come together for a shared purpose,” said Beh Chun Chong, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Corporation Berhad.

“As The People’s Developer, we remain committed to creating places and experiences that enrich lives and strengthen communities.”

Brian Choo, Director of PLAYA Racquet Club, said, “For players, a tournament must offer strong competition and seamless organisation, which guided our execution from day one. Staging Open and junior categories side by side gave young players direct visibility into what elite play looks like. We want every participant to leave inspired to keep developing their game.”

Paramount Cup 2026 was supported by Gold Sponsors Nuva (Official Apparel) and Montigo (Lifestyle); Silver Sponsors LAC (Wellness) and Auto Bavaria (Automotive); Bronze Sponsor Franklin (Official Ball); and official partners Mercure Hotel Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie, Sports Realm, Nature Loop, Gearbox, Selkirk, Pantai Hospital Klang, Tourism Malaysia, Sport Sync and iMedia.
