How many of you often ignore the trolley and leave it next to their cars or parked haphazardly on medians?
Some supermarkets have tried to make this relatively easy by having the trolley receptacles at the parking lot, trolley attendant, and some just fully rely on the ‘rental’ system where a customer pay for the trolley and reimbursed money once returned.
However, there are some people who just leave their carts stranded for some of the following reasons according to researcher Krystal D’Costa.
1. Trolley parking away from their parking lot.
2. The user has a small child so it is quite difficult to restore.
3. The weather is bad.
4. Limited physical movement.
5. Users feel that the task of collecting trolleys is the job of shopping mall workers.
