Starbucks Plan To Close 400 Stores In US Because of Coronavirus

The pandemic has changed many things in our life. We also have to adapt to the new norms that has been implemented in every part of the world.

Due to this, many large companies have been affected including the well-known Starbucks. Starbucks has planned to close its 400 stores to adapt to the new norms. They are planning to integrate the physical and digital experiences to the customers by implementing curbside pickup and mobile ordering.

Starbucks is taking the action as part of the “U.S. Store Portfolio Transformation” and also because of the changes in the retail environment. It is important for every company to quickly adapt to changes that happened in the current world.

In November 2019, Starbucks has started operating its first pickup store in New York City. According to the company, the customers have positive feedback on the experience and it creates a good engagement for the customers. Starbucks also plans to increase drive-thru and curbside pickups.

According to the company’s CEO, Kevin Johnson, as they were navigating through the COVID-19 crisis, they want to provide to the customers a safe store experience.
