A magnitude 6.6 earthquake on the Ritcher scale was detected in Samar, Philippines at 8.03 this morning.
The epicenter was reported 120 degrees north and 124.1 degrees east with a depth of 10 kilometers, apart from 51 kilometers west of the city of Calbayog, the Malaysian Meteorological Department said this morning on its Facebook page.
However, the quake currently does not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia.
