Dordogne, France, a man reported to be in his 80s, became irritated by the winged insect buzzing around while tucking into his dinner on the evening of Friday, September 4.
The unnamed man took his electronic fly swat in an attempt to take the pest down. However, as he swatted about his kitchen, he had no idea of the leaking gas cylinder right by him.
An explosion occurred result from a reaction between the electric swat and the gas and blew up half of his kitchen. However, the elderly was somehow was able to escape the explosion unscathed following his run-in with the fly, having only suffered a burn to his hand. The man’s roof was also damaged caused by the blast just for a section, but the home is said to be currently uninhabitable. The man now stays at a local campsite while family members are now repairing the house.
It said this is not the first time that this kind of incident had happened. In 2018, a man from California actually burned down his parents’ house in a bid to rid the house of some spiders.
The man used a blowtorch to attack an infestation of Black Widow spiders and ended up accidentally causing significant damage to the house. he made it out of the building safely, and nobody else had been home at the time.
