Initial D fans will be pleased to learn that BAIT has now teamed up with G-SHOCK for a special DW5600 named after the main protagonist of the anime, Takumi Fujiwara’s iconic Toyota Sprinter Trueno APEX AE86.
The timepiece is decorated with a whole roster of details taken from the drift-centric manga and anime on the same white base of his street racer, including the black racing stripes of his car running down the length of the chain, along with the logo of the series on the top half and the tofu shop signage of the Fujiwara family on the bottom half.
As well as shining through the dial when illuminated, the anime logo can also be found engraved on the caseback.
A themed box decorated with illustrations from the manga, as well as an AE86-inspired metal case, completes the set.
For those interested, you can sign up for an opportunity to buy the Initial D-themed G-SHOCK DW5600 at a price of $200 USD from now until December 29 on the BAIT website.
The special timepiece will also be available from 26 December in BAIT Chapter stores around the US and then in limited numbers in Japan.
