In an effort to encourage people to register for the vaccination program, Singapore released a short film that will make you feel a tad nostalgic. This short film features the three friends as they enjoy their friendship bridging the years and inherited in their children.
They also talk about their desire to see a better future for their kids in the vaccination program, ensuring the best of health protection.
With the classic song Rasa Sayang playing in the background and shows the three friends sharing youths, fatherhood, and their golden years, their camaraderie resonates with Singaporean feelings of unity. Even in the beginning when the scene flashback to their younger years is inspired by P. Ramlee’s Bujang Lapok.
The film uses the slogan ‘One For All, All For One’ from The Three Musketeers. It reflects the sense of unity in their plight. The film ends with the three friends in their old age joking about who should get the vaccination shot first. The friendship that persevered throughout the years is very moving to see.
It can be said that the short film brings back the nostalgia of the old Petronas adverts in Malaysia. The short film also makes us remembered the late Yasmin Ahmad’s storytelling style. Indeed the Singapore Government nailed it in their high-quality PSA.
