Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama‘s finally submitted the draft for the final manga chapter. After nearly 12 years of publication, the critically acclaimed series is finally coming to an end.
The editor tweeted on the completion and thanked the fans for their support. “On Eren’s birthday, I received the final chapter of Attack on Titan. Everyone, please look forward to reading the chapter in the May issue of Bessatsu Magazine. Thank you for 11 years and 7 months of hard work Isayama-kun,” the post reads.
Publisher Kodansha hyped it up with a countdown campaign with digital wallpapers and interviews.
The anime recently concluded its season 4 based on the ‘Marley’ (chapters 91–106) and ‘War for Paradis’ (chapters 107 onwards) arcs from the original manga by Hajime Isayama. Recently, it was also reported that publisher Kodansha made it clear that its fight against manga pirates continues, and will be a worldwide one as well, as shown in a tweet from Shintaro Kawakubo, Japanese editor for the manga’s ‘Attack on Titan’.
There were rumors speculating on a possible plot twist. For those who have been keeping up with the manga, it is worth looking out for and the ending is not far.
All the more reason for Kodansha to take legal action to prevent leaks. This move is to actively stop illegal uploads pertaining to the final chapter ‘regardless of the country’.
“We’ve begun to take legal actions against several accounts & individuals. We’ll take measures against illegal uploads of images & texts regardless of country. Thank you for choosing our official products,” said Shintaro.

For the anime, Crunchyroll and Funimation announced the final season will be streaming ‘later this year’.
Isayama has spoken about his struggles to produce the ending in a satisfying way.
“It’s been a very long time coming, but I hope you can stay with me until the end. It’s been a very long time coming, but I hope you can stay with me until the end,” he said. The editorial never instructed him to stretch the story.
Attack on Titan tells the story of a world besieged by giant human-eating beings called Titans. The manga and anime both center around Eren Yeager, who lives in what is believed to be the last human stronghold.
