As a result of the fame this book has received, it is now in preparation for a TV series with Julia Roberts as the lead role.
What Is It About
The Last Thing He Told Me tells a story about Hannah Hall who is trying to win over his husband’s 16-year-old daughter, Bailey. The daughter made it clear that she is not happy with her new stepmother’s existence.
They live in a houseboat in Sausalito where Hannah is a woodturner and Owen, her husband works at a successful tech firm. Despite the drama, the family is mostly a happy one before Hannah receives a note saying “Protect her” and Owen was suddenly out of reach.
Things got more confusing when Bailey found a bag full of cash in her school locker and the CEO of Owen’s company has been taken into custody. They learned that the firm is under investigation for a fraud case but Hannah refused to believe that her husband is involved too.
Author Dave throws in a touch of suspense and danger, alongside a few surprises but what made this book a solid page-turner is the evolved relationship between Hannah and Bailey.
