The man behind Batman suit in Pennsylvania, Bob Gable used to serves cocktails at Parx Casino by night and serves justice by day. His slogan goes like, ‘Making Bucks County great again’.
A video posted by VICE on YouTube, tells the story of his everyday heroic actions.
Gable has always loved comics since he was a kid and has been collecting costumes for over a decade. The most expensive costume he ever had is his Batman costume at the price of $12,000 but it is not the only piece that stands out from his collection. Three years ago, his War Machine costume from Ironman won the best overall costume prize at Philadelphia’s Wizard World conference.
At first, he was just riding around Bensalem in his suit on a motorcycle before he started making videos of himself that definitely caught the internet’s attention. His Instagram under the username @buckscountybatman is now verified on Instagram, with 64.4k followers.

Gable lives close to Philadelphia which is called ‘Gotham City’ but without batman so he wanted to be that local hero. To match with the real batman character, he would add claw marks all over his body for a realistic look. His first ‘crime’ was tackled in June where he cleaned up graffiti for a local bait-and-tackle shop.
For Gable, it is just another day at work. “It’s just nice to make people happy,” said Gable.
He shared that he had started working since he was 10 years old with all kinds of jobs. He said that his money is not spent on other things except for his costumes.
