A good day for Silent Hill fans. Konami brought back the Silent Hill franchise with a bang!
In today’s Silent Hill transmission, Konami announces 3 new Silent Hill games, a PS5 remake, and a movie! Let’s take a look at everything new from Konami’s announcement.
Silent Hill F
First of all, a new Silent Hill project is underway. Silent Hill F is the newest edition of the horror series. A brief trailer was shown during the transmission but not much is not apart from that.
In the trailer, it looks like it will take place in rural Japan. The trailer shows a young girl experiencing some eerie toys and odd circumstances. Flowers eventually cover her, and her face eventually peels off at the end of the trailer.
It is a very cryptic trailer that doesn’t show much so fans will have to wait a while before we get to know more. Acclaimed Japanese writer Ryukishi07 will write the story of the game.
Silent Hill Movie
This is not all for the announcement, Konami also announce a new Silent Hill movie! The director of the first Silent Hill movie, Christopher Gans will return for the third installment.
The movie is called Return to Silent Hill. Unfortunately, not much is known about the movie but Konami will share more details about the movie at a later date.
Other Silent Hill games
Other than that, a Silent Hill 2 remake is also in the works. However, it is said that the remake will only be available for the PS5.
The remake will tell the story of James Sunderland who travels to a town called Silent Hill in order to search for his wife. His wife sent a cryptic letter to him from that town.
Interestingly, Konami and Bloober promise a totally revamped experience with updated technologies and a 4K release.
Last but not least, Konami also announced 2 new other Silent Hill games that is Silent Hill: Townfall and Silent Hill: Ascension.
Silent Hill: Townfall will be a spinoff developed by No Code Studios and publisher Annapurna Interactive.
But, possibly the most out-of-the-ordinary announcement was Konami’s Silent Hill: Ascension, an immersive project in which users from all around the world would control the characters in a new Silent Hill tale.
Simply put, this new Silent Hill adventure will be available across several platforms in style reminiscent of the popular Let’s Play series.
