Coronavirus: Twitter Tell Employees To Work From Home

As one of the well-known social media companies, Twitter has told its employees to just work from home to prevent the spread of coronavirus. It was required for staff in Hong Kong, Japan, and even South Korea to work remotely.

The company also said it was suggesting that all of its 5,000 employees around the world to not come into work.

According to Jennifer Christie, Twitter’s head of human resources, it is their goal to reducing and preventing the probability of the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus. Not just for them but also for people around the world.

As is stated, Twitter has been making solutions to work from home for some time. Not just that, Twitter’s chief executive Jack Dorsey also has a long-supported remote working environment. It is believed that this is a big change for Twitter. They have already been moving towards a more distributed workforce that was remotely increasing.

For additional info, it is also known that other well-known technology companies like Facebook and Google, have canceled or even postponed conferences in the US.

Twitter and Facebook had already announced that it was pulling out of South by Southwest media conference in Austin, Texas. Meanwhile, companies like telecoms operator A&T and banking giant Citigroup, have restricted international travel, especially to Asia.
The announcement comes as deaths due to the coronavirus around the world have passed 3,000 as the outbreak spreads all around the world from Asia to the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
