The new numbers came a day after certain officials communicated careful hope that the infection may be slowing, with the rate of increase dropping to its lowest in 10 days on Sunday.

South Korea which is now the second-largest number of COVID-19 cases outside of China (behind Italy)  has likewise confronted an expanding number of movement limitations, with more than 100 different nations forcing probably a few limitations on arrivals from South Korea.

The issue of movement limitations revived a political and monetary quarrel between South Korea and Japan, as South Korea said on Friday it would suspend visas and visa waivers for Japan in light of Tokyo’s movement limitations on Koreans.
