‘Happy With Three Points, But We Can Do Better’ – JDT Coach Mora

KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) — Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) head coach, Benjamin Mora is unhappy with the performance of his charges after they eeked out a narrow 1-0 victory over Police in their third Super League match at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras, here, last night.

The 40-year-old Mexican-born coach said Police were very dangerous threat on the counter attack, forcing the Southern Tigers defence to work extra hard.

“A couple of our new players are still adapting to our style of play such Liridon Krasniqi, while Natxo Insa is still unfit, whereas Muhammad Fadhli Mohd Shas has not played in a competitive match for a long time, but those shouldn’t be excuses for me.

“Police gave a strong performance as they tried to complicate our game play.We were struggling to break the deadlock, but nevertheless, I’m happy with three points that we got,” he told a post match press conference.

Meanwhile, Police head coach, Mohamad Ishak Kunju Mohamad was pleased with the performance of his players, despite losing to the reigning Super League champions, adding that some of his players were still adapting to life in the nation’s top tier of football. –MORE

The former Terengganu player however,  expressed confidence that his players would bounce back despite failing to collect any points after playing three matches.

“We stay positive despite failing to collect any points. We are still have 19 matches, and anything can happen.

“We have a good chance to collect points from the remaining matches, and I hope my players would give the same performance as what they have displayed in tonight’s match,” Mohamad Ishak added.

A third straight victory enabled JDT now to emerge as the new Super League leader with nine points, while Police stay at the bottom of the table standings with a deficit two points.

Police were docked three points by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) due to a salary arrears issue.
