KPDNHEP Updates Latest Face Mask Ceiling Prices, 3 Ply Surgical Mask RM100 Per Box

Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) had announced the latest selling price for surgical masks and also for N95 face mask through their official Facebook page.

You would probably surprised by the new prices announced.

“This decision made to balance the current situation of the Covid-19 challenge. Traders are encouraged to sell below the ceiling price to carry out social responsibility in the face of the Covid-19 outbreak.”

Why is such a ceiling price? :
Answer:

* The actual condition occurring is due to the raw supply (facial mask manufacturing) completely imported from outside. Furthermore, the price of raw materials is increasing and pressing the production operations of facial masks in the country.

* The rising cost of production operations is already at the maximum level coupled with highly remarkable demand pressures throughout the country.

* That is why the ceiling price is fixed so that it allows the production of facial mask supplies to operate in line with operating costs incurred by the industry, and the supply of face masks can be stable in the market.

At the same time, customs (prohibition of Exports) Order 2020 which was enforced from 20 March 2020, is expected to offset the supply in our country. Manufacturers are not able to export the supply of face masks to the outside WITHOUT prior GOVERNMENT APPROVAL. This export prohibition order, potentially stabilize the supply of facial masks within the country.

The cooperation of all parties is very important.
