Over 300,000 Confirmed Cases Worldwide, Nearly One Billion Are in Lockdown

Nearly one billion people around the world are locked up in their homes yesterday after global coronary-viral deaths (Covid-19) so far reached 12,806 and the United States launched quarantine measures previously implemented across Europe.

As of today, the global death toll from the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic has surpassed 13,500 people with more than 313,000 known infected.

The pandemic has severely affected lives across the planet, suppressed movement, closed down schools, and forced millions of individuals to work from home.

About 900 million people have to be confined to their homes in 35 countries around the world including 600 million who are required to undergo quarantine orders by the government.

Although parents and those with existing medical conditions are the worst affected, the World Health Organization (WHO) warns young people are also at risk.

“Today I have a message for young people, you are not immune. The virus can cause you to be hospitalized for several weeks or kill you.

“Even if it doesn’t hurt, the choices you make about where you go can be the difference between the life and death of others,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

At this point, all of Europe is implementing strict sanctions as China has done, especially as European countries now account for more than half of the world’s deaths from Covid-19.
