Saudi Arabia Report First Victim Due COVID-19

Saudi Arabia confirmed the first death due to coronavirus on Tuesday (24/3) after infection cases in the country broke 767.

The Saudi Ministry of Health reported that the patients who died were Afghans in Medina.

On the same occasion, the Saudi Ministry of Health also reported 125 new cases of the corona, becoming the biggest surge in the country in a day. With a total of 767 cases, Saudi became the Gulf country with the highest case of coronavirus

To prevent further spread of the coronavirus, the Saudis have been imposing a curfew since the beginning of this week. They also closed theaters, malls, to restaurants.

Not only that, but they also postpone Umrah worship, which is one of the largest foreign exchange contributors in the Gulf.

Other Gulf countries were also hit by Covid-19. The United Arab Emirates, for example, suspended all flights and transit programs earlier this week.

This decision is considered able to hit the UAE economy considering that Dubai has the busiest airport in the world for international passengers where 86.4 passengers passed last year.

Oman will also stop all passenger planes starting March 29, except for and from Musandam.

Meanwhile, Kuwait is considered to have made the most stringent Covid-19 prevention effort by applying lockdown after the coronavirus infection case in the country reached 191.
