The two weeks Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia has been extended from 31 March to 14 April 2020 as informed by the Prime Minister last week.
Having said that, Defense Minister, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said at a press conference yesterday said food outlets, convenient stores, hypermarkets, and supermarkets can only operate from 8 am to 8 pm from Wednesday.
“The meeting this morning has made the decision. All food outlets, convenient stores, hypermarkets and supermarket including all petrol stations to operate from 8 am to 8 pm.
“The government also recommends online buying to limit human to human contact.
“If you order food, the delivery man can leave the food outside your gate and you can pick it up after he leaves. We want to avoid contact,” he said.
He added that all petrol stations would also be operating at the appointed time and public transportation and e-hailing services can operate from 6am to 10pm.
