KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 — The Malaysian Embassy in Chile has confirmed that there are currently five Malaysians – all of them tourists – stranded in Ecuador due to the travel restrictions imposed to contain the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The Consular Section of the embassy said all of them are still in Quito as there are no outbound flights from there at the moment.
“In the meantime, the embassy continues to be in contact with them, (and) to be kept abreast of their health and well-being in the country,” it said in a reply statement to Bernama.
The Malaysian Embassy in Chile is concurrently accredited to Ecuador.
