Man Died In Crash On The Way To Clinic

LANGKAWI, May 18 —  A motorcyclist who was on his way to a health clinic was killed after the  machine skidded and crashed into a wall of a house at Jalan Kampung Teluk Ewa, here yesterday evening.

Langkawi District Police Chief Supt Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said in the 4.30 pm incident, Mohammad Rosidi Rohim, 29, died on the spot, while his mother Che Su Said, 61, who was riding pillion, sustained severe injuries.

“Initial investigation found that the mother and son were on their way from Felcra Kok heading to the Ayer Hangat Health Clinic to seek treatment for Mohammad Rosidi’s asthma problem. The victim was believed to be speeding before the accident.

“Mohammad Rosidi was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene while his mother broke her right leg,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Iqbal said the victim’s body was sent to the Forensic Department of Sultanah Maliha Hospital for post mortem, while his mother was also sent to the same hospital for treatment.
