(Video) Mysterious Green Glow Seen Shooting Across Australian Night Sky

A mysterious green fireball that appeared to be an asteroid was seen by the people of Australia on Monday. It was seen by the residents of Port Hedland, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The green glow was so bright and even the sky around it was light up. In fact, it also can be seen by the residents in parts of Victoria and South Australia.

According to UNILAD, astronomers believe that the green light was an asteroid named Asteroid 2002 NN4. The asteroid was scheduled to pass Earth at approximately 11.20 pm at that time.

As stated by the Centre for Near-Earth Object Studies, Asteroid 2002 NN4 has an estimated diameter of up to 570 meters and with the size of six football fields.

Although it is clearly visible, the asteroid was actually around 5.2 million kilometers away from Earth. According to NASA, it was 13 times further away than the moon.

It is believed that the other time Asteroid 2002 NN4 will be anywhere near this close to the Earth will be in June 2029.
