A flock of Large Flying Fox was seen for the first time in 4 years in Singapore on 5th June 2020. The last sighting of these bats was believed in 2016.
With a wingspan between 1.5m and 1.7m, it is known as one of the largest bats in the world. According to Nature Society (Singapore) on Facebook, these bats was sighted somewhere over Yishun.

The rare and beautiful sightings also were captured by Singapore’s primate researchers, Sabrina Jabbar and posted on her Facebook.
“I hope they have found a safe place to settle. Though it was liberating to see them in large numbers in the sky, we have to acknowledge that even those free to fly aren’t exactly that free,” said Sabrina Jabbar.
“May we reflect on our actions towards the environment and animals, not just because we are going through a pandemic but more of redefining what humanity means,” she added.
