Tofu Factory Shut Down After DBKL Found Dirty, Smelly Area And Cockroaches

A tofu-making factory in Cheras has been ordered to be closed by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) yesterday. It was stated after DBKL has made a visit and inspection yesterday towards the factory.

According to the DBKL post on Facebook, the factory was very dirty and must be closed after they found cockroaches everywhere in the factory.

The floor and the walls at the preparation place were dirty. Not just that, DBKL also stated that even the toilet was dirty and smells bad.

The workers at the tofu factory was not even wearing proper clothes such as not wearing any shoes and head covering while making or processing the food.

On the same post, DBKL also said that no appointment was made with a pest control company regarding a regular checking basis.

As a result, the tofu factory was subject to the ‘Penutupan Premis Tidak Suci’, in accordance with Section 11 of the Food Act 1983. The factory was ordered to be closed starting on June 16, 2020.
