A Milo Collector for 15 Years, This Man Turn His House Into A ‘Green-White Museum’

A 41-year-old man who is a fan of the drink, Mohd Yusof Ali always associate the green and white color of Milo’s logo with memories of his late father.

Fifteen years as Milo collector, it all begins when he was a kid in the 1980s. A Milo’s supplier used to drop off milo at his father’s store and he always gets free gifts like pencil boxes and water bottles.

He said that there is a sense of nostalgia when he became an adult, so he started collecting Milo items. Estimated that he owns around 90% of all the merchandise and gifts ever released by Milo since the brand gets into the Malaysian market about 70 years ago.

From basic Milo tins to umbrellas, he has everything including a rare kopitiam mug with the brand’s logo that first came out back in the 1950s.

“Sometimes I have friends from different states who stop by Klang and ask if they can come to my place and see my collection,” he said.

Whenever he has the time, he will make sure to invite them over to have a look at his magnificent gallery.

Yusof started a Facebook group for Malaysian Milo fans like him, in the group, they can share each other collections and exchange items if they want to. The group now has about six thousand members and counting and it helps him forge new friendships online.

“I probably spent thousands on my collection but I don’t pay much attention to the numbers because some items, you can’t put a price on,” said Yusof.

He is already lost track of how much he spent on all his Milo items over the years.
