Fire at Maahad Tahfiz Kampung Lambor Kanan

IPOH, July 30   — A fire broke out at an Islamic religious school, Maahad Tahfiz, in Kampung Lambor Kanan, Seri Iskandar, near here early today,  but all the 115 students managed to escape.

A spokesman at the Perak Fire and Rescue Department said the department received a distress call on the fire at 12.52 am, following which a fire team from the Seri Iskandar and Parit fire and rescue stations, assisted by the volunteer squad, rushed to the scene.

The fire damaged the old hostel building, store, hall, and three-story classrooms at the school, he said in a statement today.

He said there was no report of a casualty as all the students and five teachers managed to flee before the fire spread.
