The unconscious goalkeeper had to be rushed to the hospital and then transferred by helicopter to a clinic in Moscow.
His girlfriend, Yelena told Podyem media: “He is in stable condition.”
“He has regained consciousness, but due to the seriousness of his injuries, he has been placed in a coma back. There was a scar on his neck, and some of his lungs were affected. He needs time to be in stable condition,” added Yelena.
Ivan’s sister said: “He was conscious several times, but doctors were afraid to take risks, and he has been put back to coma.”
“The doctor said he was very lucky. I still can’t understand it all. I don’t understand how that can happen,” she said.
“There was no sign of cloudy over the stadium before and after the incident, there was no indication that shows the incident would occur,” said her sister.
