Water Disruption: Supply Fully Restored In 26 Percent Of Affected Areas

KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 — Water supply in 26 per cent of the total areas involved in the scheduled disruption exercise from yesterday (July 14) to July 17 have fully been restored as of 9pm today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communications head Elina Baseri said supply had been restored to 74 affected areas while work is still in progress in 216 other areas.

“For Selangor, the percentage of work progress in Kuala Langat is currently at 75 per cent, Gombak (73 per cent), Klang/Shah Alam (zero per cent) and Petaling (49 per cent) while in Kuala Lumpur it is at 18 per cent.

“Efforts to stabilise the water distribution system is being actively implemented to speed up the process of restoring supply to the affected areas,” she said in a statement today.

She advised those whose supply had been restored to let their taps flow until the water is clear so that the residual sediments would be flushed out.

On July 6, Air Selangor informed that a total of 420,000 account holders in 290 areas in Petaling, Klang, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Langat will experience scheduled water supply disruption from July 14 to 17 due to upgrading works at the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 water treatment plant (LRA SSP3).
