A 93-year-old woman has “miraculously” survived after a lorry smashed into her house at high speed.

The accident has left the lorry driver in a major injury and the vehicle’s trailer bent at an angle under the weight of the debris.

The incident occurred in the commune of Lunéville, in the north-eastern French department of Meurthe-et-Moselle on Monday morning at around 7:45 am.

The driver was stuck under the debris and had to be rescued by the emergency crews. He then has been hospitalized in a serious condition.

However, the woman who is the owner of the house was uninjured in the incident.

The local fire department has shared the shocking photographs of the scene on Twitter.

Images show how the front of the lorry completely buried under the debris. The trailer also was completely bent at a downward angle under the weight of the destroyed house.

Can be seen in the images, fire crews were digging through the debris, possibly in search of the buried driver.

According to a local network TV, the unnamed 93-year-old lady, whose house the lorry crashed into, “miraculously” survived.

A report by a French newspaper, Actu, the lorry driver was one who called the emergency services, it took them more than two hours to dig him out from under the debris and he has now been taken to the hospital in a serious condition.

It’s still unclear how and why the lorry crashed into the house and still under the local Lunéville police investigation.
