Advertisers Are Not Allowed To Create Ads That Do Not Match The Real Picture Of The Goods Or Services – KPDNHEP

Advertisers are prohibited from using excessive statements if the products or services they offer are not as advertised.

Through sharing on the official Facebook, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), advertisers are not allowed to make exaggerated or extreme images and advertisements that do not fit the true picture of goods or services.

KPDNHEP explained, among the examples of advertisements that are so outrageous to confuse consumers is like burger food advertisements that are not the same as reality when purchased.

This is because, the burgers pictured in the advertisement have twice the size of the thick meat, while the actual burgers sold in the store are small and thin.

KPDNHEP may take action against misleading advertisements, deceive or make false representations and unfair practices under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and the Trade Descriptions Act 2011.
