Doctor Suggests Six Ingredients That Really Work To Treat Acne

Acne is a skin problem that is faced by many people. Some of the causes of acne according to MyHealth are greasy skin or hair, greasy and dirty environment, hormonal changes, and consumption of drugs.

Treating acne could be troublesome for some people. However, acne can be treated by taking a good daily-care routine on your face. The ingredients in facial products also play a great role in handling this problem.

Here are tips by Dr. Irma Shida on the best acne-fighting ingredients to look for when buying facial products.

  1. Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs)

AHA is effective in removing dead skin cells which can cause clogged pores. The consistent use of AHA will make your skin become smoother & softer. Examples of AHA are glycolic acid, lactic acid, etc. But remember, this is NOT FOR BEGINNER.


2. Benzoyl peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is able to kill the bacteria, remove excess oil & exfoliate dead skin cells. Usually, it has a percentage of you can choose based on how severe your acne is, usually from 2.5% to 10 %.

Another ingredient that is great for treating acne is sulfur. It will decrease excess oil & inflammation. However, the smell is not very appealing.


6. Clay
