7 Ingredients That CANNOT Be Applied To Our Face

Everyone definitely wants a beautiful face and charming skin. Therefore, various methods are used to get encouraging results.

Unfortunately, there are some facial care tips that are believed can affect skin health. For example, the seven ingredients shared by Hello Doktor are believed to be not suitable to use on the face.

Below are the 7 ingredients that are not suitable for facial care:

Honey

This type of material has been used to treat wounds since time immemorial. Today, it is said to be able to help to get rid of acne.

Honey is also believed to fight germs and reduce inflammation. However, there is 1 study found that honey works just like bacterial soap.

It can also cause allergic reactions for those with flower allergies.

Lemon

The use of lemon for facial care is very good because this fruit is rich in vitamin C – can brighten the skin and reduce fine lines. But, lemon is also an acidic fruit and can irritate your face.

Individuals tend to have a rash from the problem of phytophotodermatitis – a skin reaction occurs if this type of substance is exposed to sunlight.

It can cause swelling, redness, and blisters on the skin. Consumption of lemon also increases the risk of developing leukoderma or also known as vitiligo.

Coconut Oil

Indeed, coconut oil is a substance rich in lauric acid – proven to fight acne. However, it also contains 90% saturated fat that can clog pores on your face.

You can use coconut oil as much as possible because based on research, it can help overcome the problem of dry skin or severe eczema, BUT only on the body part.

Hot Water

The use of hot steam in facial care is said to help open pores on the face. But only hot steam instead of hot water. This is because if you use hot water to wash your face, it can get rid of skin moisture.

What happens next? The oil glands on the skin will try to replace the lost moisture by removing more oil. The effect? Acne appears.

Toothpaste

Sounds kind of illogical, but some say the use of toothpaste on acne can eliminate it. Really? Although this material is safe to use in the mouth (on the teeth), but for the aspect of facial care, it is not suitable.

Toothpaste may help dry out acne. However, at the same time, it also tends to cause irritation and potentially cause the skin to become too dry.

Bicarbonate Soda

You must be used to hearing about the use of this type of material as a face scrub, right? But this substance also known as baking soda has a high pH, 9. While the pH of the skin is around 4.5 to 5.0.

So its use on the face is likely to damage the skin and cause irritation and dryness. So avoid it, okay?

Vinegar

Some individuals recommend vinegar as a face toner. But is it suitable for your facial skin? Generally, vinegar is a strong acidic substance – low pH – meaning it can erode and harm healthy skin.

In fact, the use of apple cider vinegar for facial care can result in severe chemical burns.

If any of you have used any of the types of ingredients listed above, do not worry. Instead, calm down and wash your face thoroughly.

If you have problems with facial and skincare, the best solution is to get an examination and get a consultation with a dermatologist.
