Family Wanted a Son, Ditched Their Newborn Girl Next To A Rubbish Bin

Having a baby surely brings luck to a family. Parents will devote their life to raise the children in any condition they are in.

China is well-known for its strict child policy. It is a pride in Chinese culture for a family to have a son as the son can carry forward the family name.

In Southern China, a street cleaner found a newborn girl left abandoned next to a rubbish bin. After investigation, the police discovered that the baby was ditched because the parents had wanted a son. The family decided to desert the baby at the rubbish bin right after she was born as the family already had two daughters. The father told that their dream to have a son was crushed after her wife delivered their third daughter.

CCTV footage released by Qiaotou police shows the father walking on the street in the dark while carrying the baby girl.

Police officers were called to the scene after the infant was later found by a street cleaner. A team of medics also arrived to check the baby’s condition. The baby was brought to a local welfare center.

The parents were arrested and will be taken into custody. According to Chinese laws, the act of abandonment can be sentenced up to five years.
