Flood Warnings As 50mm And Thunderstorm Is Set To Batter UK

The UK is facing tremendous weather this past week. Flash flood at a few parts in southern England had caused disruptions. The flash flood had caused the closing of roads and the canceling of trains. It gives parts of Britain to be issued with a yellow warning by Met Office.

Now, a large part of the UK has been warned about torrential rain and thunderstorms. This will create chaos across the country.

According to the Met Office, the UK’s national weather service forecasts further heavy rain. The rain could see up to 40mm falling within an hour.  In some areas, they could see 50mm-70mm falling within three to four hours.

At Sheringham beach in Norfolk, visitors were told to avoid going to the beach after water began overflowing on to the beach on Sunday. North Norfolk District Council stated that they were aware of the warnings and suggested the visitors avoid accessing the beach in the meantime.

Approximately 8,000 liters of floodwater was removed from the basement of the Wellingborough Museum, said Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service in their Twitter.

A number of flood alerts were given to most parts of the Midlands around Birmingham.  Yellow thunderstorm warnings are also still current for most of the UK.

The heavy rainfall might cause a devastating impact all over the country. It will lead to properties being flooded. There are also high chances for a road closure.
