Two days ago, the government has put into enforcement a new law that needs all individuals to wear a face-mask where they are in public spaces. This is to stop the spread of COVID-19 within Malaysia. Anyone who arrested for violating the law will be fined as much as RM1000, as per the Prevention and Control of Infections Diseases Act 1988.
The law is now starting and it is still some people are questioning how for those who are underprivileged and can’t afford to buy new boxes of disposable face mask.
A post on Twitter shared how a homeless old man who absolutely can’t afford a face mask, was digging a pile of trash in an attempt to find one used mask so he can wear it to avoid being fined by the authorities.

“I’m looking for a face mask, or I will get fined”
Incident took place in Seremban, it said that the place is regularly visited by the old man and believed to be homeless and sleeping on the streets of Seremban.
As for now, the price for a disposable face mask is RM1.50 as set by the government and soon will be lower to Rm1.20 beginning from 15th August 2020. Wholesale prices are also expected to be lowered from the current RM1.45 to RM1.15 per mask.
