KKM Is Looking Into The Use Of ‘Face Shield’ As An Alternative To Face Masks For School Students – Ismail Sabri

The Malaysian National Security Council (MKN) has previously issued a list of face masks in several places including, mosques and surau; social gatherings; public transportation; zoo; school buses and vans; sports and recreational locations (when not doing activities) and health premises namely clinics and hospitals.

Following this implementation, the government intends to further lower the price level of the three-layer face-covering ceiling below RM1.20 per unit.

In a press conference today, Senior Minister (Security), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri informed that several proposals have been submitted to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) to reduce the burden by conducting a study on the use of’ Face Shield ‘whether it can be washed and reused for students.

“We also suggest that face shields be used. Because it is bought once and does not need to be changed every day. The price is understood to be inexpensive, and can be washed and used every day for 2-3 months with regular washing,” said Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri.

“So, this is what will be investigated by the KKM, InshaAllah when it is approved, the government will announce it to all. Maybe this can be mandatory if you want,” he added.
