Signs That Shows Your Children Must Wear Spectacles

Myopia or short-sightedness is a defect of the eye that causes the light to focus on the retina, thus resulting in the blurry vision. Short-sightedness among the children had become common these days.

This results from the advancement of technology where children are widely exposed to gadgets.

According to MyHealth, some of the causes of this problem are the habits of sitting too close to the computer screen, reading in dim light, and watching television at a closer distance.

For those who want to know more, below are the full explanation by Public Health Malaysia related to sign that shows your child needs spectacles:

Do you like little ones winking while watching television? Or, use a tablet that is close to the eyes. Sometimes his eyes are red and watery because he always rubs his eyes.

This may indicate your child may need eyeglasses.

If your child is good at talking, they may start complaining about eye pain at the end of the day. The eyes may be too tired because the main focus is on winking all day.

Take a doctor or optometrist for an eye examination. Don’t wait too long. The sooner myopia is identified and treated, the better for your child’s learning development.

Signs Your Child Needs Spectacles:

  • It is difficult to focus in school
  • Rub the eyes excessively
  • Wink
  • Tilt the head
  • Close one eye
  • Sit too close to the TV
