A strong earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale was reported to have occurred in South Sumatra, Indonesia early this morning.
The incident at 6.29 am is said to have occurred 131 kilometers southwest of Bengkulu, Indonesia. It is said to have a depth of up to 84 kilometers.
However, according to a report from the Malaysian Meteorological Department, there was no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
In another report, another earthquake occurred in Southwest Sumatra, Indonesia at 6.23 this morning. An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale with a distance of 159km southwest of Bengkulu, Indonesia. This earthquake also did not bring tsunami threat to Malaysia.
