Customer Accidentally Spent RM3000 After Misreading Menu At Gordon Ramsay Steak

Recently, a man was visiting Atlantic City, US, with his girlfriend made a reservation for outdoor dining for Gordon Ramsay Steak at Harrah’s. He said that his plan was to splurge on some Wagyu beef however he saw the “real deal” Triple Seared Japanese A5 was on the menu. Seared Japanese A5 also know as Kobe and widely considered to be the finest cut available.

He was surprised to see that it appeared to be cheaper than the American Wagyu, saying it cost about £26 (RM140) for 4oz, compared to about £59 (RM300) for 8oz of Wagyu. The man said, “I had never had real deal Kobe,”.

“It was like nothing else you’ll ever have. Melt in your mouth delicious. We also ordered a couple of sides, appetizers, and my girlfriend had chef Ramsay’s famous beef wellington for the first time ever.”

“All in all an amazing meal and we were glad we could support the restaurant and its staff during these challenging times. And I still couldn’t believe Kobe was cheaper than Wagyu!”

“Or so I thought.”

Turns out that he actually had misread the menu slightly, and the beef he had ordered was actually £26 (RM140) per ounce with a minimum order size of 4oz – not £26 (RM140) for 4 ounces. “I had to read the menu again when the bill came, because, for 2 people, the bill was over $600.00 (RM3000) !!” he said.

“My family and I are huge Gordon Ramsay fans, we watch his shows – Hell’s Kitchen, Masterchef – and I’ve been to his restaurants before and loved everything we’ve gotten,” he added.
