Dog ‘Cries’ As It’s Forced To Eat Spicy Chilli For A New Trend After Mukbang Videos Banned In China

China, local social media have started filming their dogs binge-eating as part of an online trend called ‘Chibo’, which means eating broadcasts. It said originally started with Vloggers filming themselves consuming a big amount of food. However, some users decided to drag their pets into the videos.

Chinese government cracked down on the internet trend after blaming it for increasing food waste in the country. Since all content has been banned from popular live-streaming sites such as Douyin, a Chinese version of TikTok, however, pet owners have taken advantage and started to do it on their dogs instead.

In a video, a dog owner feeds his German Shepherd a bowl full of Sichuan chili chicken, which gives a tingling and numbing sensation for those who eat it, including animals.

Can be heard in the video he is saying, “Alright, let’s give our handsome Shuaishuai a taste of Chongqing. This is a dish of chili chicken,”.

The breaking moment is when the German Shepherd can be crying with tears dropping down the corner of his eyes as he chose down on the spicy dish.

“He is enjoying it,”  the owner added.

There is another video filmed a husky being forced to eat a bag of popping candy while his owner holds onto his snout. Other dogs owner claimed to set a challenge for their pooches and one filmed a corgi and a golden retriever drinking eight different kinds of pet milk at one time. The video ended with the corgi lying on his back looking discomfort.

Dog owners have since been slammed for abusing their pets after the unsettling videos became the latest trend on Chinese social media. A ban has been called by the viewers on using adorable pets to gain clicks and appealed to users to report on such videos.

People who concerned about the pets commented, “The dog is clearly not enjoying it, stop it right now!”

Another wrote, “He can’t take it anymore, it’s too spicy for a dog. This is too cruel to watch.”
