A man was reported to refuse to wear a face mask when boarding on a flight from Kushiro Airport in Hokkaido to Kansai Airport in Osaka. He failed to respond when a flight attendant asked him to wear a face mask.
Other passengers said they didn’t want to sit near to a person who doesn’t wear a face mask. Later an argument started between the man and other passengers. He raised his voice and accused them of slander. The man was told to be issued with a written warning but he still didn’t cooperate with the cabin crew.
The captain of the Peach Aviation aircraft decided to make an unscheduled landing at Niigata Airport to remove him from the flight. The incident had caused a two hours and fifteen minutes delay for 124 other passengers.
