KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21  — A company owned by cosmetic entrepreneur Safiey Ilias was fined RM23,000 by the Magistrate Court today, for possessing and selling a health product not registered under the Health Ministry.

Magistrate Mohamad Aizat Abdul Rahim meted out the sentence on DSI Empire Sdn Bhd, which was represented by Safiey, 26, whose full name is Mohd Safiuddin Ilias, as the director of the company, after he pleaded guilty to two charges.

Mohamad Aizat ordered the company to pay a fine of RM5,000 for the first offence and RM18,000 for the second.

DSI Empire was accused of selling three boxes of the unregistered product “Aurora SX Premium 30 caps” to an individual and also for possessing 112 boxes of the same product.

The offences were committed at the company premise at Jalan Kolam Air Panas, Desa Melawati here, at 11 am, on May 8, 2019.

The OKS was charged under Regulation 30(1) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984 and could be punished under Section 12 (2) of the Sale of Drugs Act 1952, that carries a fine not exceeding RM50,000.
