What is usually a portfolio in government? We will definitely say all the fields related to finance, transportation, environment, and so on. Government portfolio formation usually already has its own mold, which maintains a similar portfolio each time-except for the existence of special requirements that require the creation of a unique portfolio.
Did you know that some of the unique portfolios of world government representatives that have been created sounds a bit ridiculous but actually it happens?
1. Minister of Artificial Intelligence
What if you were told the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the only country in the world that has created the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence so far officially?
The UAE government has a big vision in leveraging this Ministry, with the introduction of the National Artificial Intelligence Program- driven by the world’s first Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Omar Al Olama, a 30-year-old business, and management graduate.
The UAE’s goal with the establishment of this new ministry is to make their country a leader in the field by 2031, specifically in the application of artificial intelligence in the fields of education, transportation, energy, and space and technology.
The sound of this post may seem strange, but we are confident that this portfolio will be heard soon.
2.The Minister of State Joy
The UAE once again ahead of other governments in creating a new, bizarre portfolio. Ohoud al-Roumi, a scholar in economics and business was appointed by the UAE government to be Head of the Ministry of National of Welfare.
The new portfolio, which was introduced on February 10, 2016, was created to carry out programs that are felt to increase the level of happiness of the UAE community to a better level, with improved policy between the community and government relations.
The various programs introduced with the core are though the National Happiness Agenda, where the UAE aims to be the world’s top five countries the happiness index 2021.
According to Ohoud, her appointment to hold the portfolio received a lot of cynical criticism from other parties who denied the importance of what she was doing.
3.Tea Powder Appeal Body
Due to the restrictions on the import and export of tea powder directly from the United States directly into the United States in 1987, their government introduced ‘The Board of Tea Apparels’ to inspect every sample of tea to be marketed here.
Consisting of seven tea powder inspectors appointed under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), their job to taste all available tea samples to ensure their quality and authenticity-before the permit is approved.
Chief Inspector Robert H. Dick, who was also named the ‘no.1 tea expert of the United States government’ reportedly tasted more than 300 cups of tea every working day, for more than 48 years leading the agency.
The body remained in operation for 100 years before being dissolved in 1996. It is said that the annual operating expenses of the body cost around $ 235,000 which is often criticized better spent elsewhere.
